Ski and Snowboard Scotland's 3 Valleys

Skiing and snowboarding in Scotland is becoming easier and cheaper by the day, with all the major transport operators vying for the trade north. With an excellent range of packages, Glenshee offers an attractive winter break alternative to the more tiring journey to the continent...

The snowfields at Glenshee stretch over 3 valleys and 4 Munros giving access to 40 km of marked pistes, as well as off piste skiing. With its diversity of pistes, Glenshee offers something for everyone. Beginners and novices are able to get to grips with skiing and snowboarding on the nursery slopes next to the main car park, with easy progression onto the seven lifts which start at car park level. The centre is also ideal for intermediate skiers/snowboarders with no less than 26 blue and red runs, varying from the long and exhilarating to the short and steep. Experienced skiers and boarders however, are able are able to test their skills on two excellent black runs - the ever popular Glas Maol black or the infamous mogul strewn Tiger which has been a formidable part of the Scottish ski experience for years. In addition to the plethora of on-hill terrain, boarders are also treated to a specially designed Fun Park at Meall Odhar which has recently seen a face lift, following its introduction in 1991. With so much choice, it is easy to see why Glenshee is Scotland's premier resort.

On Site Services

The Ski Centre offers superb on-site facilities from garment hire through to mountain restaurants and cosy cafes. Enjoy a wide selection of hot and cold meals, drinks and snacks at car park level and on the mountainside, whilst a fleet of five piste groomers, keep the slopes in the best possible condition.

Glenshee provides an extensive on-site and up-to-date ski and snowboard hire, with a team of experienced advisory technicians to ensure expert fitting and maintenance for both children and adults. As part of an express service, equipment can be booked in advance, although with a stock of 850 skis, sticks and boots and 200 snowboards and soft boots this is rarely necessary. Childrens' helmets are also available for hire.

Conveniently situated, Glenshee Ski Centre Ski and Snowboard School boasts a dedicated team of BASI and BSF qualified instructors who offer a variety of lessons for all standards of skiers and snowboarders. Lesson's are tailored to the individual's needs and can be private, group or as part of a Big Value Package Deal (details available from the Centre).

Scotland's Largest Lift System

It is not just a matter of value either. Glenshee Ski Centre is arguably the leading Scottish ski centre in terms of continual investment in the infrastructure. Through this program of development on and off the slopes Glenshee become the first Scottish ski centre to introduce artificial snowmaking. It is also the largest in Scotland, based on the number of lifts and tows - 26 in all - with an uplift capacity nearly 50% greater than its nearest rivals. More recently, Glenshee installed a computerised ticket system, aimed at increasing the general efficiency of the ticket office. Tried, tested and approved by many of the top European resorts, the system has proved such a great success that a ticket sales point has been introduced in ski hire to further help reduce queuing at peak times.
