Callater Lodge is a small, comfortable hotel with two self-catering cottages. It is close to the centre of the historic Highland village of Braemar, near royal Balmoral Castle and the Whisky Trail. Braemar, home of the world-famous Braemar Gathering and Highland Games, lies amongst beautiful Scottish hills and mountains by the River Dee, one of Scotland's finest Salmon rivers. It is an excellent base for digital options touring, walking, hill-walking, cycling, climbing, golf, skiing (at Glenshee or the Lecht ski centres), fishing, shooting and other holidays. Braemar is also at the heart of the proposed Cairngorms National Park

We are pleased that both the Automobile Association (AA) and the Scottish Tourist Board (STB) have recently awarded the hotel higher gradings.

The AA has awarded us and the STB has awarded us H H H H Guest House rating.

Though it can be described as a hotel or a guest house we feel that the term guest house more accurately portrays that 'small' and 'personal' atmosphere of Callater Lodge.

The self-catering cottages have 3 - 4 star rating
